These are the best accessorised celebrities at the 76th Cannes Film Festival

The 2023 Cannes Film Festival has been making headlines everywhere with its star-studded red carpet moments and, of course, its cinematic lineup for all movie fanatics out there. Featuring Catherine Deneuve (as shot by Jack Garofalo during the filming of “La Chamade”) on the official poster for this year’s festival, it is a tribute to commemorate the actress’ contributions to films.

The appearance of the actress was undoubtedly one of the highlights during the festival’s opening week, however, Johnny Depp’s comeback post-divorce might have actually garnered the most attention worldwide. Known as a chameleon in the world of cinema, Depp transformed into Louis XV on the set of “Jeanne du Barry”, while retaining his status as one of the most fashionable men on the red carpet in Cannes.

Alongside Depp, a few other attendees at the festival also caught the eyes of The Future Rocks’ editorial team. Read more for the complete list of the best accessorised A-listers (and learn how to up your accessories game) below.

Dame Helen Mirren

Some people debut new films at the Cannes Film Festival, while some people debut new hairdos. No stranger to fun hairstyles - she was seen in extra-long hair extensions at Cannes the year before, while also trying out pink hair at the 2013 BAFTAs - Dame Helen Mirren wowed the crowd with a fresh new blueish purple hairstyle while donning a custom-made gown of the same shade.

While her hairdo was what caught most people’s attention, what we liked about her look was the drop earrings that gave her some extra sparkle. Get her look with Smiling Rocks’ Sparkle Earrings II, with three pieces of lab-grown diamonds set in diamond-shaped 14k white gold.

Johnny Depp

Making a grand comeback post-Amber Heard divorce battle in 2022, Depp certainly knew all eyes would be on him this festival season, and he’s ready for it. Welcomed by a seven-minute standing ovation for the festival’s opening night film “Jeanne du Barry”, in which he took on the role of Louis XV, Depp managed to prolong his king status off-screen by upping his accessories game for the evening.

Donning a classic black double-breasted suit, Depp spiced up the look with some alternative styling choices that only he could pull off. Long hoop earrings on men may indeed be out of the ordinary, but you too can style yourself like a king with Loev’s Eternity Engraved Ear Cuffs set with 0.44ct Brilliant cut lab-grown diamonds and handcrafted in 18K recycled gold.

Rosé @ Blackpink

In support of groupmate Jennie’s Cannes debut for her very first TV series “The Idol”, and representing luxury brand Saint Laurent, Blackpink’s Rosé went for something more subtle compared to her black wedding gown look earlier at MET Gala. Seen in an elegant black dress designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, the K-pop star went for a swept-up hairstyle that gives way for her choice of jewelry to shine.

Accessories can often make or break the outfit when you’re all for subdued colors. For a more classy and simple styling choice, Rosé’s understated drop diamond earrings are a safe go-to that works for several occasions - be it a cute first date or a slightly formal work event. Here at The Future Rocks, Hikari’s Milky Way Earrings may just be the secret weapon you’ve been searching for.

Sakura Ando

The “100 Yen Love” breakout star has continued to make cinematic history with her remarkable screen presence since her award-sweeping performance in the 2014 movie. Riding on her success with this project, Ando further rose to international stardom in world-renowned director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s “Shoplifters”. With countless film awards under her belt, this iconic duo strikes again with “Monster”, competing for the festival’s Palme d’Or.

Being one of the strongest contenders for the festival’s highest prize, “Monster”’s Ando switched out her typical Japanese mom hairdo in the movie for a sharp makeover. Complimenting the fresh cut, Ando kept things simple by pairing an ear climber with a small hoop earring. Our answer for this comes in various forms and shapes, but the closest suggestion would be Rêver’s Criollas Line Earring featuring a row of lab-grown diamonds set upon recycled 18K gold.

Gemma Chan

Post "Crazy Rich Asians” fame, 2023 is another important year for the actress. With a few projects set to release this year, Gemma Chan was seen attending the screening of Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Palme d’Or contender movie “Monster”. Channeling Audrey Hepburn with a sleek updo with bangs, Chan stunned the crowd in a white Louis Vuitton gown with broad satin trim.

Knowing there isn’t one single styling equation that works for everyone, understanding what works and what doesn’t has always been the key to success. Serving as a perfect example here, Chan framed her diamond face shape with nothing but more diamonds (pun intended). With drop earrings being the synonym for classic elegance, get Chan’s look with Rêver’s Cascade Pear Earrings feature cascading pear-shaped lab-grown diamonds.

Uma Thurman

Some people debut new hairstyles at the Cannes Film Festival, but not Uma Thurman. Seen with her classic sandy blonde hair, Thurman’s surprise at the festival was indeed her date of the evening, son Levon Thurman-Hawke. Keeping it simple in a navy double-breasted suit, the 21-year-old, whose father is Thurman’s ex-husband Ethan Hawke, knows best not to steal the spotlight from his mother.

Being the presenter of the honorary Palme d’Or award, Thurman showed her respect for the occasion in a classic Dior ballgown. To balance out the heaviness of the choker band necklace, Thurman opted for a clean ear stack style that matches the shade of the ballgown. For a simple mix-and-match piece, Rêver’s Pear Piercing Earring is undoubtedly the must-have in your jewelry box.
